Accomplishments

I only ask all the voters to look at what each candidate has accomplished for Braintree, its taxpayers and veterans.  I am proud to share with you everything listed below:

  • Shifted more than $3.2 million dollars off the backs of residents keeping taxes low and helping to support our seniors on fixed incomes. 
  • Initiated and gained Town Meeting approval for Servicemen and women legislation to allow for up to 100% Property Tax abatements (Click here "Soldiers Bill" for more details).  Accomplished
  • Introduced legislation and gained Town Meeting approval for a Hotel/Motel Occupancy Tax increase of  1%  increasing Braintree's revenues by ~ $250,000 without burdening residential tax payers. (Click here for more "On Taxes") . Accomplished
  • Working on a new Payment in Lieu of Taxes program (PILOT) to increase Braintree's revenues without burdening residential taxes payers.  Working to secure, a conservative $200,000 in new revenues or in-kind services for Braintree and residents. (In-Progress)
  •  Reduced the Overlay Budget to its lowest in history.
  • Saved Braintree $60,000 by reducing lease contract length on Fire Engine. (Accomplished)
  • Residents property tax advocate keeping a watchful eye on the South Shore Plaza to keep residential taxes low.
  • Dan's creative ideas and new strategies generate new revenues without  Over-rides or Debt Exclusions are consistent  examples of his leadership.
